Lauren Bacall,
originally born Betty Joan Perske
came on the Hollywood film scene in the 40s
as a leading lady of film noir
and made cinematic and fashion history.
Devastatingly beautiful,
The Look (chin on chest, eyes up)
was engineered to help her through nervousness
whilst performing for an audition
and thereafter became her trademark.
Still acting to this day,
this now 85-year-old
incredibly handsome, intelligent
and talented woman,
once married to Humphrey Bogart,
showed us all how to be
a woman with balls.
