During some recent research into Victorian clothing for a styling job,
I encountered these wonderful images on the web,
found on Flickr and other online locations.

The thing that struck me the most is the posing,
understandably unnatural for these people,
especially when considering the new medium of photography,
but also strangely telling of the personality of the subject .

I love imagining their lives,
their loves,
their past-times,
the way they spoke and moved….
